The Cottage

Keepers Cottage.

The cottage has been carefully renovated to a high standard, but still maintains its character, charm and many of its original features.

Keepers sleeps up to 6 people. There are three bedrooms, two large doubles on the ground floor and a third bedroom upstairs with two single beds.

The Lounge

We like to create a home from home feeling so the comfortable oak beamed lounge has views across the Moss and down the lane through your own wood. A real gas fire will warm you up after a day out exploring and there’s digital TV to help you to unwind; two comfy sofas(and of course a special chair for the boss!) – cozy but also plenty of room to spread out.

Dining kitchen

The dining kitchen is spacious and well equipped. We’ve comfortably seated six people around the table with room for more.
There is a large electric cooker, microwave, family sized fridge-freezer and dishwasher.

The cottage has free wifi (and a DVD player).

Bedrooms

There are two double bedrooms on the ground floor and an upstairs bedroom with two large single beds.
A cot is also available.

The master Double bedroom.

All bedrooms wake up to a view of the moss. When you first open your curtains in the morning keep your eyes peeled for deer who like to visit close to the cottage in the early hours.

The second double bedroom.

The second double bedroom is the same size as the master so really there are two master bedrooms! Both with plenty of hanging and drawer space and over bed lighting so you can curl up with a good book after all that fresh country air!

The upstairs bedroom

Twin beds and a sky light – this is loft living country style. The children’s favorite room! It’s like climbing the stairs to a castle keep (there are only a few short stairs but to kids, it’s a castle keep!). The room is elevated with great views across the moss from a small, secure window.

Bathroom

The bathroom has a bath and a separate shower.
There is a shaving point over the sink.
We provide fresh towels.

Stables and storage and Parking

There are stables for those who wish to bring their own horses. They also make perfect storage space for bikes, canoes, climbing equipment and etc.
There is ample parking space and a garage for one vehicle.

Keep comfy.
A high chair and cot are available.
Bed linen and towels are all provided.
The cottage is centrally heated.

Keep connected. Keepers has free WiFi

Utility Room

Whether you’re looking to wash and dry layers of expensive kit after a day’s adventure or simply got caught in a shower of rain the utility room is perfect. Right next to the front door you can dump all your wet gear (or best friend) in the washer, the sink or on the drier by the radiator and then make a dash for the lounge (or the shower).

Keepers Cottage is for non-smokers.

The Garden

The attractive garden has patio furniture, a swing and playhouse. Sheep and Cattle graze quietly in the surrounding fields, owls nest in the barn, woodpeckers can be spotted on the bird feeders in the wood. Children love Keepers Cottage. There’s a whole wood to explore, a big garden to play in (you’ll find all sorts of toys in the stable and the playhouse.

The Woods

There’s always something happening in the woods lining the long lane up to the cottage; Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. The floor of the woods between the trees are always a blaze of colour, birds come and go from season to season and the trees themselves are beautiful in their variety and character.

Hunley Moss

A nature reserve in your own back garden. Unspoilt for centuries the Moss is teeming with wildlife and it’s right outside Keepers’ back door. Indeed all guests overlook the Moss from their bedrooms. Buzzards and Kestrels hunt the far reaches of the Moss, Deer visit early in the day, perching birds investigate its borders all day long, owls and bats visit at night, foxes invade, rabbits flick in and out of the hedges…

Pets

Well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement.
